Police Foil Two Kidnapping Attempts in Katsina, Rescue Six Victims

The Katsina State Police Command has successfully foiled two separate kidnapping attempts and rescued six victims in coordinated operations across the state. These operations, carried out in collaboration with military personnel, occurred in Jibia and Faskari Local Government Areas.

In the first incident, a distress call was received at the Jibia Divisional Police Headquarters at approximately 8:15 AM concerning an attempted kidnapping on the Jibia-Kauran Namoda road. Police operatives, alongside the military, responded swiftly and engaged the suspects in a gunfight. Four kidnapped victims were rescued and taken to the hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, one of the victims succumbed to injuries sustained during the attack.

In a related operation, at around 7:00 AM, the Faskari Divisional Police Headquarters received a report of another kidnapping attempt on the Funua-Gusau road near Unguwar Boka village, Faskari Local Government Area. The joint police and military team responded promptly, engaging the assailants in a gun battle. Although one victim was fatally shot, two others were rescued unharmed.

Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the attackers, with investigations continuing to bring the culprits to justice.
